Jupiter and Io shadow transit

Post by smerral »

Jupiter and the shadow of Io imaged last night at 08.40 UT. Io itself is in transit but unfortunately the seeing wasn't good enough to use the barlow. This is done at prime focus with the C8 and the Altair GPcam V2 using RGB filters.

During the Io transit a comet or asteroid was caught burning up in Jupiter’s atmosphere. See today’s www.spaceweather.com
