Burnley? Blackburn? Meetings?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me of any local places in or around the burnley Blackburn Preston area of Lancashire, were regular star parties, gatherings, etc are held. I would realy like to get out their and watch with people that know more on the subject than me, and company while observing iam sure can only make the experience better. Any help or advice will be much appreciated thank you.

Hi thomasfn , Head off up through Bacup and down towards Todmorden and you have the Astronomy Centre at http://www.astronomycentre.org.uk/ ( and they have a star party coming up on Saturday 29 th August) .Most Saturday nights there is something happening there .
We have an astronomical society at Hebden Bridge at http://www.hbas.org.uk/ and we have several members from the Burnley , Nelson and Colne areas .. Our new season of astronomy talks is just up on the web .
There is an astronomical society in Preston and another in Bolton. Have a look on the Federation of Astronomical Societies website at http://www.fedastro.org.uk/fas/
Hope this helps,
Len E
