A company with sites in Bristol, Belfast and Oxfordshire, Thales Alenia Space, has done a deal with Nasa through the British Space Agency to construct a chemical refuelling station. The station will assist in transferring fuel to the Lunar Gateway space station that will orbit the moon and operate as a communication hub and science laboratory.
NASA plans to land both a male and female astronaut on the moon by 2024. The British built refuelling station is due to be launched in 2027.

Lunar Getaway building as important as rocket manufacturing for Artemis mission. The Moon is three days long from the Earth but the spacecraft has to be safe and be able to successfully send humans to the Moon and back.

I think Lunar Gateway will not be the last space station to be built on the Moon. More and more space companies appear and develop in the world. I watch announcing the news, development plans and I believe that one day we will wake up and realize that we have reached a tremendous level of development in the space industry.

It seems a waste Kay that nations are not pooling their space resources, instead of duplicating some of the things that others did decades ago. It would be more rational to have a global space programme. Of course, this level of co-operation isn't possible in the present divided world. It's in the future...

Yes, that would be the perfect solution. After all, this is not only the unification of the knowledge and skills of scientists and engineers, but also the unification of budgets, which would make it possible to make progress faster and more efficiently.brian livesey wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 10:20 am It seems a waste Kay that nations are not pooling their space resources, instead of duplicating some of the things that others did decades ago. That is an exciting development in space exploration! Thales Alenia Space, a company with sites in Bristol, Belfast, and Oxfordshire, has secured a deal with NASA through the British Space Agency to construct a chemical refueling station. This refueling station will play a crucial role in transferring fuel to the Lunar Gateway, which is a planned space station that will orbit the moon. The Lunar Gateway is intended to serve as a communication hub and science laboratory. It's noteworthy that NASA has set a goal to land both a male and female astronaut on the moon by 2024 as part of the Artemis program. This program aims to return humans to the lunar surface and pave the way for future manned missions to Mars.
