Orion and Leo wide field.

Post by smerral »

I had a play with the little Star Adventurer mount last night. The camera was the astro modded Canon 1000D with the standard lens set to wide field. Both are single exposures of 600 secs for Orion and 300 secs for Leo.

Nice snapshots! Although 10mins is hardly a snapshot :D . Do you think some of the small stars are hot-pixels?

Brian, yes I'm sure they are. I use dithering on my big mount but I can't on this one. I also would have needed several stacked frames of course. The alternative solution would have been to subtract a dark frame but I didn't get round to taking any. I did try to process some out in Photoshop. All part of the learning experience! :D
