Lunar Eclipse, WHEN ???

Post by astroeddie »

Guys,

Been searching the web for info on the next lunar eclipse. Anyone have any idea when. I reckon 28 days after the solar totality.

Right or wrong (again, ha ha )

Hi Eddie. Good to hear from you again! :D
The next 3 Lunar Eclipses according to SkyMapPro:

2018 Jan 31 (total) not visible from mid-UK
2018 Jul 27 (total) part visible from UK
2019 Jan 21 (total) all visible from UK

So looks like a wait until Brexit Year

Not really 28days, but about 14 days before the solar eclipse there was a lunar eclipse mainly seen east of the U.K. I think.

David

As said earlier, this was a partial lunar eclipse further east. Probably the most picturesque lunar eclipse I have seen - a full red Moon on a pastel sky, low over sunset fields and dark green hills; it was touched with a ruffle of dark cloud and a dusky shade on the lower limb. I was in France at the time, visiting a cousin. Kind thoughts, Bob
