Hope someone out there has one of these and can help me out.

The views on the moon and Jupiter arer the best I've ever seen in any scope.

My querry is how to use the hand set ?
The distruction manual is not worth the paper it was prited on. No mention of its functional keys at all.
Please help a distraut observer here !!

Cheers Eddie H

Hi Eddie,
I've used the same scope for about 18 months now, as you say you do get some really good views through it.

The handset instruction for AZ goto mounts describes the handset function keys from about p6 onwards. I downloaded the manual from the SW website.

This was the first goto scope I had ever used and I had a few little problems to start with. This first was small issue I had to start with was the date format input, its has to be "mm/dd/yr".
The second was initially positioning the mount to start with, if I level it & align it roughly north the goto seems to work reasonably well.

Best Regards

Andy

Hi Eddie.

I don't have any first-hand knowledge of the Skywatcher AZ mount, but the link below claims to be an up to date manual.

At the bottom of page 9 it says
"The slewing speed can be adjusted by pressing on the RATE button. Then choose
a number between 0 (slowest) - 9 (fastest)." The RATE button being number 2.

https://storage.googleapis.com/skywatch ... 547032.pdf

Hope this helps you a bit,

regards,

Hi Eddie,
Had a few problems with sending a PM. But Brian's has listed exactly what I was going to say. The rate button is number 2 on the handset and the slewing speed is set by selecting 0-9.

Best Regards

Andy

Nice combo Eddie. Many observers prefer the HEQ5 to the EQ6 it seems. Let us know how you get on with it :)
