Planetary Imaging with ALTAIR GPCAM AR0130C COLOUR Camera

Post by gfletcher »

Hi Guys
Am I right in thinking that I can leave the star diagonal 0n my 8” SCT and insert the GPCAM AR0130C COLOUR Camera into it for imaging or do I have to remove the diagonal?
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,

with the range of focus available from the moving primary mirror you can indeed insert your camera into the diagonal. The main consideration is the quality of the diagonal, but I found the Meade supplied one to be useable. On the back of my LX90 I have a motorised Crayford focuser and a flip mirror to hold the cam, and I've never had a problem reaching focus,
