Dear Friend,
I am sure you will agree that the 'Leeds Astromeet' is justly regarded as one of the premier events in the national amateur astronomy calendar. An excellent line up of speakers and topics looks set to ensure a very enjoyable day for all.

“Leeds Astromeet 2008
Saturday November 15th
Doors open at 9.00am. First talk at 10.00am sharp
Ample free car parking on the campus.
Venue : The Clothworkers Hall and Foyer, School of Music, Leeds University
Ticket cost: £10 (reduced to £5 for under 18s and full time students on presentation of a valid student card)
Our speakers will be (running order to be confirmed later)
Prof. Paola Caselli – University of Leeds - "From Interstellar Clouds to Planets: the
Universal Factory".

Dr Allan Chapman – University of Oxford - "The Historical Relation of Astronomy and Astrology".

Prof. Michael Cruise – University of Birmingham - " The Search for Gravity Waves".

Mr. Roger Pickard (BAA President) "The Career of a Variable Star Observer"

Prof. Fred Taylor – University of Oxford and JPL - 'The Atmosphere and Climate of Venus, and the European Venus Express Mission'.
