SPA visit to the University of London Observatory

Post by Paul Sutherland »

In case you've not noticed, the SPA has arranged a rare opportunity to visit this famous observatory at Mill Hill, North London, on February 17. Numbers are strictly limited so be sure to book a ticket soon if you want to go. Full details are here.

I recommend a visit. See the clockwork fry, the radcliffe - one of the largest refractors still in operation, and some of the oldest biscuits about in the tearoom. For light pollution enthusiasts, there's also some recent additions to nearby streetlights you can try and get your council to copy...

I've visited the observatory in Mill Hill before- it was part of my tour around UCL in london. Unfortunately the gigantic Radcliffe telescope was under refurbishment and wasn't able to see it. Good observatory though- I recommend a visit.

I gather this trip is almost booked up, so do get your skates on if you want to go!
