SPA's Jubilee event for Scotland! June 15.

Post by Paul Sutherland »

If you're in Scotland or the north of England, don't forget that the SPA is coming to Edinburgh on Saturday, 15 June as part of our Diamond Jubilee tour. We have an excellent day of talks at the historic Royal Observatory, including:

The search for E.T. Dr Duncan Forgan reports on how he radio telescopes are trying to detect alien intelligence.

KMOS - a £15 million machine, built in Edinburgh, that is mopping up distant galaxies from Chile. Instrument scientist Dr Michele Cirasuolo tells us all about it.

The James Webb Space Telescope - leading scientist on this mission Dr Alistair Glasse will give an update on the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Plus there will be talks from Dr John Davies, Dr Andy Longmore and SPA President Prof. Derek Ward-Thompson.

So if you're within reach of Edinburgh, go here to see how to get your free tickets for this event.

Yes. Applicants after that date had to apply by email or print a ticket. I'm looking forward to hearing how the day went.
