STARFEST II

Following on from our successful inaugural STARFEST convention last year where we welcomed over 140 attendees, North Essex Astronomical Society will be hosting its follow-up, STARFEST II, on Saturday 10 November 2012 at the Alec Hunter Humanities College, Braintree.

We have a line up of excellent speakers including:

Dave Eagle (Astronomy writer and imager) - "Hitch-hiking on a Ray of Light"
Robin Scagell (SPA VP and astronomy writer) - "Comets"
Ian Ridpath (Science author and broadcaster) - "Exploring the Moon"
Stuart Clark (Science author) - "The Sensorium of God"

Doors will open at 09.00 with talks beginning at approx 09.45.

There will also be trade stands and exhibits including Nik Szymanek, Ian King Imaging, Green Witch, Astronomia, Telescope House and others, along with displays of astrophotography and model spacecraft.
Weather permitting, we hope to have some solar observing during the lunch break with specialist solar telescopes.

Tickets are available now, priced £12 each* and can be purchased in advance online or by post, or on the door on the day. More details can be found on our website. We hope to see some of you there.
