The West of London Astronomical Society will be holding Moonwatch evenings at Ruislip Lido on Friday 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, from 7.30 to 10 pm. All welcome, no charge.
This will be a a wonderful chance to get a close-up view of the dramatic crater filled surface of the Moon, viewed through different telescopes. If the skies are reasonably clear we may also get the chance to observe other night sky objects, including the planet Jupiter and Andromeda, our nearest galaxy.
Members of WOLAS will be on hand to help and to answer any questions you may have. Bring your family and friends, it should be great fun, as well as informative. Don’t forget to bring some warm clothing, as the nights can get very chilly at this time of year.
Ruislip Lido is off Bury Street. Entry is via the gate adjacent to the free car park at the end of Reservoir Road HA4 7TY.
