European Astronomical Society (EAS) Annual Meeting 2021

Post by JohnM »

The EAS meeting is being held as a virtual meeting again this year due to the impact of COVID-19. The meeting will be held from 28 June – 2 July 2021 with sessions normally starting at 08:00 BST & finishing at 15:30 BST. Note these times may differ due to the forthcoming end of daylight saving time changes in Europe.

The registration fee this year is 200 Euros with a reduction to 150 Euros for EAS members. For that you get several hundred talks both live and recorded see https://eas.unige.ch/EAS2021/program.jsp . Each of the sessions on this page has links to the more detailed schedule. Last year the recordings were available for about 30 days after the meeting (longer for EAS members).

As might be expected for a professional meeting you need to have some understanding of the subjects to fully understand the talks.

Hope to see you there - if you are attending reply to this topic and we may well arrange some sort of virtual meet up while the conference is in progress. By the way in addition to zoom for the talks the conference also uses Slack for communications and possibly questions. If possible you may find having two monitors or computers useful to watch the Broadcast and the Slack discussions at the same time.
