Russo-Chinese moon base planned ..

Post by brian livesey »

Russia and China are to co-operate in the construction of a moon base, located either on the lunar surface or in orbit. Any country would be free to use the International Lunar Research Station.
The agreement to collaborate in construction of the lunar base was signed by Zhang Kejian of the China National Space Agency and Russian space agency Roscosmos chief Demitry Rogozin.
A statement said the station would be “built on the lunar surface and/or in lunar orbit and will carry out scientific research activities such as lunar exploration and utilisation, lunar-based observations, basic scientific experiments and technical verification.” America will not be involved, having broken off almost all contact with China. Sooner or later the US will have to acknowledge the fact that there are new kids appearing on the block challenging its long-held economic supremacy.
In previous years, China depended on Russia for space technology, but since its first crewed mission in 2003 has followed its own path, although it’s Shenzou space capsules resemble Russia’s Soyuz capsules.

Let's not forget about the developments of other countries. After all, not only the United States, Russia and China are engaged in space development and launch spacecraft.
