Post subject:  Nasa planning permanent lunar base

Nasa administrator, Jim Brindenstine, is calling on American industry to help design and construct manned lunar landers for a permanent presence on the Moon, and manned landers for a future Mars mission.
The Trump administration and Congress have given their consent for the projects. Brindenstine said: "We are going to the Moon with innovative new technologies and systems to explore more locations across the surface than we ever thought possible. This time, when we go to the Moon, we will stay."
Is this the signal to pursue geological mining surveys for metals and minerals on our satellite? If lunar mining begins in earnest one day, there are bound to be political ramifications involving other nations who want a slice of the cake.
Next week, Nasa will meet potential partners from private industry and elsewhere at it's Washington DC HQ. Already, nine companies have co-operated with the aim of sending cargo to the Moon.
