Japan's Hayabasa 2 asteroid sampler is scheduled to pass by Earth in a sling-shot trajectory on Dec.3. The probe is expected to reach the asteroid Ryugu in 2018.
Hayabasa 2 is an ambitious project that, on reaching its target, will deploy four landers and drop a copper impactor onto the asteroid. Then, the spacecraft itself, measuring only 2 x 1.6 x 1.25 metres, will briefly land on the asteroid at least once to collect samples from Ryugu. Finally, the probe will use its ion engines to return to Earth. Bon voyage.

Brian,
It's "Hayabusa" not "Hayabasa".

Score draw?

I acquired the Hayabusa information on http://www.spaceweather.com, so we'd better send them a spelling checker.

It says in that article "many people have never heard of Hayabasa2" . Probably because Hayabasa2 doesn't exist

The name is correct on the Japanese animation.
