Russia's new cosmodrome

Post by brian livesey »

The new space centre is located at about 3,400km from Moscow and not far from the Chinese border. Russia wants to reduce its reliance on the Baikonor launch site, that was constructed in Soviet times and has to be rented from Kazakhstan.
Corruption involving shoddy workmanship and embezzlement, leading to the arrest of directors of three subcontractors, is plaguing the completion of the new site, which is four months behind schedule. Vladimir Putin wants the cosmodrome finished for the first rocket launch next April.

Hopefully, they will be sending Vladimir to Mars.
He can start a colony there.

It is after all, the Red Planet.
Should suit him fine.

P.S.
Haven't seen Mars last few mornings due to cloud.
