Beagle 2 found on Martian surface

Post by brian livesey »

Nasa's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has imaged the lander on a plain, and it's been suggested that one of the solar panels on Beagle 2 might not have been deployed; enhanced imagery might confirm this:
"We are not looking at a crash site," said David Parker, of the UK Space Agency. "We have good evidence of Beagle 2 resting on the surface of Mars. These images are consistent with Beagle 2 having successfully landed on Mars, but then only partially deploying itself." Today's GUARDIAN.

There's always a place for a pun. Now we need a retriever to bring back the beagle for placement in the Science Museum.
