Solar eclipses

Today there was an annular eclipse, for quite a while now I would like to learn more about how eclipses are calculated. I know that the Saros series allows when they are calculated within a cycle with a period of 18.3 years and that after each of those cycles the path of the moon's shadow slowly moves north over hundreds of years until that cycle misses the Earth over the north and then that cycle is finished in terms of calculating.
So that's how much I know, does anyone know of any decent books or websites that expand on this to a highly technical level?
Thanks in advance,
Neil
