As with the gyroscope failures that led to the shut down of the highly successful, exoplanet-seeking, Kepler Telescope, the fabulous orbiting Hubble Telescope may be suffering the same wear-and-tear fate.
Nasa has announced that one of Hubble's gyroscopes failed last Friday. Scientific observations with the 'scope are on hold, leaving the instrument operating with only essential operating functions.
Whatever Hubble's fate might soon be, no-one can deny that the Hubble Space Telescope has been a resounding success.
