Any advice on how to collimate a reflecting scope with a .965 eyepiece would be appreciated

You can use modern 1.25 inch diameter collimation tools if you have a 0.965 to 1.25 eyepiece adapter, widely available. From ebay £8, from aliexpress £12 and from astro suppliers £22 :)
