Aiming to get up 40,000ft in a steam-powered rocket to check if the earth is flat. True Victorian pioneering spirit whatever his beliefs. RIP

Whatever reason he believed what he did, and we are all entitled to believe in what we want to, after all many believe in God, many don't I believe that there are more intelligent life forms on Earth than Humans, it is a shame he went the way he did.

It is also a sign of the times that in the UK we not so discriminating if that is the word, unlike Australia, USA etc where he is MAD Mike, and condemned for his "odd" beliefs. GOOD for the UK.
