My feeling is that the nebula (left side) just might be a genuine alien. After all nobody knows what a real alien looks like (?). But that being so the alien may be extremely clever & cautious such that when it knows it is being observed by stupid humans it just freezes to avoid being detected.
Whilst the other picture (right hand side) just shows what one or another stupid human thinks an alien or some-one else looks like.
If I recall correctly some years back I actually imaged that possible genuine alien myself. Perhaps he may have said something like "Stupid woman" but I never saw the aliens lips move.
