Small asteroid passes within GPS orbits

Post by Brian »

"On Jan. 8th, asteroid 2019 AS5 flew past Earth only 8600 km above our planet's surface."
Within GPS and geosynch satellite orbits.

From http://www.spaceweather.com/ for 11 January 2019.

They suggest that it counts as an "almost" hit
