The perfect storm

Post by brian livesey »

It's the hurricane season and what a magnificent sight they are seen from space, these wheeling "galaxies" of rain-bearing cloud.
This is not to ignore the destructive threat that hurricanes pose to those living in their tracks, but so do other natural phenomena, such as volcanoes. Who doesn't feel a sense of awe at seeing a volcano blowing its top, as long as we observe it from a safe location?
As with other phenomena of nature, hurricanes are both destructive and regenerative at the same time. On the regenerative side, these roaring tempests clear away some of nature's dendritous to make way for the new.
