Dear al(L)
I recently sent a response to a post (The Sun 31\03\2017) although my response seems to be acknowledged on the main (?) forum page my actual post does not appear (?).
Has anyone else noticed a similar problem ?
I think it's happened to me before, and in the past I think I've occasionally noticed others replies going astray - but I'm not sure about that (?).
from Cliff

Yes, I've had this happen, but if it's still occurring then you won't be reading this.

Dear Cliff, sorry to hear about your lost post. Apologies if it was a fault our end :) . I can find no entry in the forum log for this posting.

Like others, I have had this happen to me in the past. At one point I always made a copy of any lengthy post so that I could re-paste the content if necessary. Lately I haven't seen this problem myself, but in so saying I'm probably inviting trouble in future :(

Kind regards,

Dear Stellar & Brian
Thanks for your replies.
Being a computer "Duck Egg" thank goodness I'm not alone in some of my weird experiences. Just to give you a laugh - a few minutes ago I just tried to send a response to another bit of chat. I spent a good half hour NO luck. Then I tried sending a reply by making a new topic. That didn't work either. So I tried doing that again - that time it not only worked but also displayed the other reply that I thought got lost.
Best wishes from Cliff
PS - Brian I don't envy you doing the moderating. If I did it I think I would completely wreck the whole internet.

It might be that your posts are going into an alternative universe Cliff, on an alternative popastro.com.

Dear Cliff,

More recently I have noticed when I send in a post/reply to the Forum and hit the "submit" button that I get the "success" message but the post itself does not appear on the forum page until I hit the "refresh" button on my browser (IEx).

Previously, after posting I would be automatically taken back to the page with my new posting on it. This doesn't seem to be happening now. I have to refresh to see the new entry.

Post-posting Edit< having said all that, this item posted faultlessly :?

I suspect this is something to do with Windows/IEx on my machine,

Regards,

Brian, I've noticed exactly the same thing, I'm having to use "refresh" much more routinely now, eg your message did not appear on the actual page - I had to refresh to bring it up.
