I read in the BAA Forum that this Yearbook will no longer be published, although some articles had already been written. I guess the demise of Sir Patrick Moore really made this inevitable, although last year's edition was issued, edited solely by John Mason. I used to buy it if I saw a copy in WH Smith and, latterly, from 2000?, they were hardback rather than paperback. An end of an era, I think, being replaced by a number of yearly publications by astro-magazines. regards maf

It certainly is the end of an era.
My YB's date from 1978. They were a regular gift from my Grandparents at Christmas time.
They were well received and full of information.

Sadly, I thought the 2016 Year Book. Was printed on very poor quality paper, which affected the picture quality.

I have just discovered that there is to a a "Yearbook of Astronomy 2018" (Paperback) – to be issued at on 30 Nov 2017 by Brian Jones (Author), Richard S Pearson FRAS (Author). The published blurb says that it is a followup to the old PM series. regards maf
