Has anyone read "Black Holes and Time Warps" by Kip Thorne?
I note it was published in 1995.
Does this mean it is likely to be dated?
Any other comments?

Yes, it's a superb book. I'd say it's mostly current theory even though it is 20 years old - the basics have endured. I'm sure there are some things that are missing but the most important are there. Perhaps it has been updated since it was first published?

I bought the paperback but when I consider a book special I always make a point of finding a first edition hardback to treasure - this was one of those.

I have bought, second-hand, on various subjects, from suppliers on the net.

Yes, all the time. Most of my science 1st editions were bought from second hand bookshops via AbeBooks.
