I recently bought one of these (USB 3 interface) as an upgrade from a DMK51.

My experience of the camera so far has been very positive apart from one thing. When I use my barlow (1.8x TMB) I get some banding across the entire field. When I remove the barlow the banding also disappears leading me to wonder whether this is some sort of interference pattern. I'm using a 6" F8 refractor.

I'm using both SharpCap and FireCapture.

This effect is not uncommon with these cameras it seems. Horizontal banding is an interference pattern known as Newtons Rings, seen especially when doing solar imaging.

Have a look at this post from the ZWO User group site:
http://zwoug.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2030

is this what you are seeing? There are some remedies there, or you could post to the Group directly for support,

Regards,

Thanks for that Brian. That is exactly the problem. I guess the easiest solution is not to use the barlow!
