Here's a GOTO base mounted on my barn door tracker.
Not yet set up but GOTO will find the DSO's etc and tracker will take over the accurate tracking required for imaging it.
As I already had the tracker I thought, " Why not GOTO too?" :D

Hi there! and Welcome. Don't know how I managed to miss this post, I must be getting old :) . Apologies for a late reply.

Certainly an interesting "contraption" which takes a bit of working out on first viewing. Must have taken some building. Looks well-built , and it will be very interesting to see some of the resulting images when you get up and running.

Good luck and keep us informed ,

Regards,

Here is an example of what my barn door tracker can do.

This is a 30 minute jpeg exposure taken with a cheap Tamron 75-300 zoom lens set at 200mm. Slightly out of focus as one can see. Modded Canon 450d. ISO800.

The image has been well cooked as LP was the moon nearby. Taken near to Celestial Equator which is the severest test for star trailing if tracking is out.

M12 is arrowed. Being only 16 minutes of arc it is quite small with a 200mm lens,
but it is there.

I have always known that barn door trackers can be built to track quite well and after 3 changes of RA hinges now to bearings I am slowly getting there.
The GOTO system was not used yet BTW. It's yet to be set up and aligned.
