NOT taking into cost what is the exact difference between an imaging camera and an electronic eyepiece

Can a cheaper camera, say a Neximage 5 be used as an eyepiece

Thanks

Interesting point,
I guess most imaging cameras will give you a live view so that you can see and show bright objects to interested bystanders. I think true electronic eyepieces either use software or internal hardware to capture a number of images, add them together and then display them on the computer or a stand-alone monitor. This process rolls along so the image is replaced with a new stacked image every few seconds (or fraction thereof) and makes a brighter image so even fairly dim deep-sky targets can be shown to your public! Very useful things for out-reach sessions or if you have problems seeing targets with normal eyepieces due eye-relief and glasses etc.
Hope that helps.
