Hi,

I've heard a couple of voice comms over the last few days (Andre Kuipers ESA astronaut) and there will be a school contact today (Sat 23rd). We wont hear it but it's worth a listen during todays passes as there seems to be more activity on these days recently.

Hi,
Just a pointer to some more possible voice comms. There will be a school contact today (USA) and although we wont hear it I think there could be a chance of hearing something during todays passes (Tues 26th). The school contact days have been pretty active lately so worth a go today (and Thurs 28th). The school contact today is for 19.11 BST and the pass for us will be around 19.27 BST so any further 'ham' activity might be worth listening out for. Will see what happens during this afternoons passes too.
After last Saturdays school contact I also heard voice comms on the 143.625 freq.

Hi,
Hopefully there may be a few more transmissions shortly. Sunita William US astronaut will be blasting off for the ISS shortly and she has been very active on the school cotacts/ham activity on her earlier mission.
Heard russian voice this morning (Sat 14th) on the 09.58 bst pass (143.625)

Hi Andy,
Nothing heard on that fequency at all, in fact nothing heard at all on any frequency for a while now until this evening (Mon 20th). Heard Russian voice on the 19.41 BST pass on the 143.625 nfm freq. (possibly during a spacewalk ?). Very clear here at the moment, will be listening and watching out for this evenings 21.18 BST pass.

Hi Andy,
Looks like the ISS is now transmitting packet signals on the 145.825 freq. again. Just heard the last two passes (Wed. 17.58 and 19.34 BST)

Hi Andy,
Not been doing much astro stuff or listening in to the ISS myself lately (just started a new job and all over the place with the hours).
Heard quite a few 'packet passes' tho lately (three so far today .. Mon 27th). There will be a US school contact this Saturday (Sunita Williams), wont be able to hear this one but as usual there will be a good chance of picking up some ham activity that day on our passes (hopefully).

Hello Gents!

Not had a chance to do much scanning myself for a while now, but hoping to get back to it soon ... seems like its been quite quiet for a bit though from reading your posts.

Thanks for the 'Heads up' Dave, will give the scanner a run,you never know.It has been quiet,on the monitoring front, hopefully we will all get something soon.Looking forward to the Autumn/winter here, get some observing done then, for some reason i prefer observing in the winter hours.

Hi All,

Yes Tim it has been a bit quiet lately but hopefully we may be getting a few more comms now that Sunita Williams is aboard again (she was the most active crew member on the ham radio on her last mission).
I've got to agree with you Andy, I love observing in the winter months (as most of us do). :)

There will be a couple of school contacts coming up in a week or so, both sould be easy targets for us.

Friday Sep.7th 09.52 BST Sunita Williams will be talking to students in Germany.

Sunday Sep 9th 09.50 BST Sunita Williams will be talking to Australian students via telebridged contact in Belgium.
We've got good passes on both so well worth a go :)

Thanks Dave - I'll probably be at work on the Friday one, but the Sunday should be good to give it a go for me.

Not had many clear nights here for months - I haven't really done much observing at all this year, certainly not since March anyway. :( Shame too because I like looking around the summer triangle.

Hi All,

Just a quick 'heads-up' regarding this Fridays (7th Sep) school contact planned for 09.52 BST .. it's now been postponed due to an additional space walk taking place. The planned school contact for Sunday (9th Sep.) at 09.50 BST looks like it will still take place. Should be a good one (fingers crossed).

I came across one called 'orbitron' looks very good actually, even gives the radio freq's the ISS is using.
All the best,
Andy.
