I read today in this month's Astronomy Now that the ESA has lost contact with Envisat, and looking it up on the web I see that contact seems to have been lost permanently now. Sad to know it's lost, although I understand it has already long outlived it's expected lifetime. Envisat was my fav for visual observing. However, AN says that it will stay in orbit for at least 100 years yet! So it may be gone, but not forgotten for a while yet ...

Hi Tim,
Although HA has now taken it off it's Amateur Radio Satellite page it is still very much visible and the timings are still there on the main page. If the engineers fail to regain contact (which doesn't look promising), it looks like being one heck of a piece of space junk :(
