...the planets to the left and right of the beautiful moon this evening?

Am I right in thinking Venus (left) and Jupiter (right)?

Venus should look brighter than Jupiter.

Just looked out, a bit misty.
Venus is below the Moon. Jupiter above the Moon.
If your binocular is working you may see Jupiter's moons near the planet.

Hi Karen

Have you downloaded Stellarium (http://www.stellarium.org) onto your computer? It's free planetarium software and shows you the sky in real time. It's an absolute must and really helpful for finding your way around the sky. :D
