im looking for a away to computer control my ETX125 without anymore the autostar with it, im using a hp mini laptop 2140.

Ive not heard of anyone doing it without the AutoStar software,but it should be possible (I imagine),

Ive not got round to trying the AutoStar on the lappy just yet,as Im still having fun with the scope by itself :D

Have you seen http://www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html there maybe something there.

I think it might be possible using EQMOD and planetarium software like Stellarium, but I'm not sure if the ETX has a built-in control port?
Google EQMOD but you may need a new autostar handset for computer control,

Are you sure that an HP mini will support Stellarium?
