The SUN - 16th May

Post by Cliff »

16th May, nice day though clouds had increased when I observed & imaged the Sun, but much better transparency between the clouds than yesterday.
Two full images of the Sun in Hydrogen Alpha using 60mm Ha SolarMax telescope-
1) Sun's Ha Disk showing super-granulations and Sunspot.
2) Ha prominences exposure note faint proms on E limb.
Third a cropped image 3) White Light 88mm refractor - showing elongated Sunspot with adjacent darkish tiny area\spot all enclosed in oval grey penumbra.

Very interesting images, Cliff. Good to see you keeping your solar observations going.

I like the one of the slightly elongated sunspot.

Best wishes, Jeff.

I think you could be right there, Bob. My sleep pattern has never been good, which works quite well having an interest in astronomy :-).

I shall be relieved to see the end of this period of heavy rain, so we can have a chance at observing once more.

Best wishes, Jeff.
