At 07:00UT there even more contrails than yesterday morning spreading out across what I thought the weather forecasters said be a lovely blue sky.
Whatever, just to keep my records of the recent interesting Sunspot spell going - I attach 3 images taken this afternoon.

Hello Cliff, The umbra of the big spot there was cleft into 3 when I observed with my 80mm refractor today. The small group near the preceding limb is getting hard to see, although the patch of faculae it sits in is still obvious. Best wishes, Bob

Bob
I just wrote some fairly lengthy comments responding to your post. Unfortunately when I finished my post I got time outed and nothing has appeared. So I'm a bit naffed off.
I hope you'll excuse me not providing a brief answer on what to me is a tricky subject.
I might return to the matter some future time - but don't bank on it.
Best wishes from Cliff
