Yet another M51

Post by smerral »

M51, an old favourite. But I have never been full happy with my images of this "easy" galaxy. Here's 9x300 secs from last night with my usual set up, the C8 with reducers and the Altair GPcam v2. Colour from a previous image. Probably my best to date.

Very nice Brian. I see you also picked up the "external nebulosity" around M51b.

Delightful - although the night sky is out of my reach these days - sorry nights. I sometimes like to be reminded about some wonderful objects.
Best wishes from Cliff
