All done with the Altro Astro 60 EDF and Canon 1000D. Firstly, a single 600 sec sub of M31 before it vanished behind the roof. Even though I've cropped the images coma is still apparent at the edges. One of these days I must get a field flattener.

BrianL is quite right.
Being the first galaxy I first discovered (like many other stargazers probably) M31 is one of my favourite astronomical objects (although calling it "M31" is bad enough but referring to it as an object is a bit insulting). I got round to imaging M45 several times but never got the beauty your image reveals. (Almost makes me forget the fly tipping seen on the Pennines earlier today)
Best wishes from Cliff
