Hi Guys
Just a quick question, what would you advise is the best FREE astronomy software for the mac - i have tried stellaruim, but i am running 1.3.9 panther OS, and you need tiger, is there an older version of it i can download perhaps>

I find Astroplanner to be pretty good. There's more functionality than I'll probably ever need. ts focus is not on being planetarium software though as its more for planning and logging observations.

I have just downloaded Stellarium 0.9.1 for my 700MHz eMac running OS X 10.3.9 and it seems to run okay. Give it a try again from here, and see how you get on:

As an update, the version of Starry Night Backyard I use, V4.0.4, was on a cover disc of one of the Mac magazines. Keep an eye out, a later version may appear!
