On sunny days during July and August, we've been having lots of impressive cloudscapes. Mostly vast, pure white, piles of cumuli and the smaller, flat-bottomed, fair weather cumuli. Watching them drift sedately across a hard blue sky, while sipping on a warm coffee in a cosy cafe, is about as relaxing as life can get to be. 8)

Ironically my wife & I were up on the Pennines today (17th), not travelling in a sailing boat to help climate change problems, but fabulous views - including a glimpse of Bleaklow (peak Districts 2nd highest hill) & some lovely clouds, but too many aeroplanes flying to Ringway aerodrome - when the chap parked next to us (at almost 1400 feet), gave us both a very nice coffee he made in a very big coffee machine housed in the back of his car.
When we got home late afternoon, I observed & imaged the Sun. Guess what ? NO Sunspots but just a really small prominence, & possible tiny filament.
Best of luck from Cliff
