Ive just come back in (due to rain and crappy clouds) from my second attempt with my new telescope, the only thing visable was jupiter and 3 moons in a row to its left, i watched it at 100x and 125x mag and i must addmit it was a very nice feeling, my scope can go comftably up to 180x so i cant waite to see it at that, unfortunaitly the rains and the clouds came and i had to pack up . what i wouldnt give for a clear calm night, ALL NIGHT .

Well done, Thomas. You were seeing the same sight that amazed Gallileo when he observed Jupiter through a telescope all those years ago. It is fascinating to watch the changing pattern that the moons make.
