Hi David
Thanks for your comments. It's nice to hear a logical explanation for something that looks a bit weird.

Strange Lights in Sky
Tonight I was observing in Horsham, West Sussex (51 degrees 3 minutes North, 0 degrees 19 minutes West) and at about 8.15pm I saw two strange lights. I first saw them in the southern part of the sky approximately in line with Procyon and they travelled eastward past Regulus and finally disappeared i...

Re: Where to Look
Thanks for all the advice. I'll get a decent star atlas and a better finder scope and make more use of asterisms to find some feint fuzzies.

Where to Look
I know about star-hopping and have been quite successful at finding deep sky objects with a pair of 10x50 binoculars but i have trouble doing the same with a telescope. The problem is that with a 6x30 finder scope I have difficulty identifying the correct star from which to start hopping. This is es...

Revolution Imager
Has anyone tried the Revolution Imager R2? If so what is their view of it? From the adverts, it sounds too good to be true so I suspect that it is.

What Am I Looking For?
Is there anywhere I can obtain images or information of what exactly deep space objects, such as M31, will look like using a small (130mm) telescope? I'm having difficulty finding M31 and M32, even with a go-to mount, and I suspect that it's just me not recognising what's there. I've see the usual p...

GPS on Go To Mount
This is probably a silly question but if you have a "go to" mount, and then buy a GPS unit to go with it, will you still have to align the unit each time?
