Hi Mike,
It has been a while since I've posted an image but one way is this:
When starting a topic or replying click on "Choose file" in the "Upload attachment" window, below your text window. Navigate to where the image is stored on your computer to upload.

Always loved "Collins". Quality products jammed with information. You don't say whether you are interested solely in the science of astronomy or observing, although many astronomy books, including this one, cover both.
