Thanks for that, ill look into data transfer rates for autostar.... to be honest if/when i get either the LPI or DSI i'll probably just take the laptop outside to save on a load of wire !!! but whilst im learning the sky & autostar it'd be nice to be inside in the warm whilst being in control of my ...

Cheers guys, help much appreciated :wink: ..... i get it now with the EP's.... One other question, my intended viweing platform is some (very solid) decking, but i've read elsewhere on here that decking can cause vibrations & b****r up your image, i can move about another 15ft onto some paving stone...

This all hikes the cost up of course! Par for the course in all my hobbies mate ! :roll: ..... i think meade do a 2x barlow to go with the ETX, that would be suitable i guess ? so that plus a 6-9mm eyepiece & a dewcap should see me with enough equipment to get decent views of the moon & other plane...
