Re: Comet Pannstars
Finally, finally managed a bit of astronomy after what seems an age of cloud!!! Had a quick scan with my Komz 8x30's on 1st April, thought I'd found it but 'twas the Andromeda Galaxy. A quick dash indoors to look at Stellarium, and then back outside for another scan. Found it low down, just about to...

Re: Moon and Jupiter
Hi, great shots! I've got a similar shot of the moon, but I needed about 24 panes...and still managed to miss a bit!
Nice crescent moon tonight, but behind some trees...no good for the 'scope.
cheers

Hi, couldn't see the images in your first post, but enjoyed the image reposted by Brian. Feels similar to the the film from the Apollo's flying low over the moon. Love the detail that Brian pointed out too.
Many thanks and Merry Christmas

Re: Ha Sun 18th December
Hello, many thanks for the replies. I did reply yesterday, but the post has seemed to have dissolved in the ether somewhere.... :?: Modifying the SPC900NC was quite straight forward, just involved rotating the focusing ring fully anticlockwise, and then levering of with a pair of opened scissors. A ...

Many thanks Brian, filaments and sunspots a bit muted but the prominences came out better than I had hoped.

Ha Sun 18th December
Made the most of a seemingly rare Sun whilst having a few days of. Sun was only 15degs high (Stellarium) and ended up right in the middle of a roof vent for someones central heating! Coupled with horrible seeing too. Coronado PST, Philips SPC900NC webcam, Reg6'ed and GIMPed. Many thanks for looking ...

Re: Sun 13th December
Hello Cliff, that is some observing record! I reckon my night observing this year has been less than 1 in one week! Weather hasn't helped at all. Managed to sketch the Sun today and get some avi's which I'm plodding through, but checked Stellarium and Sun was only 15deg's high. Just about cleared th...

Re: Sun 13th December
Looks great! Granulation well defined in monochrome, and good prominences too.
Sun now getting low, and clouds at the wrong time too down here.
thanks for posting
Cheers
