What did I see?

Hi I'm just not sure what I saw... I'll describe, I was riding my bike home turning up my close in Horndean and it was 6.24 Friday night (11 Jan) as I was approaching my driveway I saw such a bright object shoot like it was going away from me in the direction high above the roof of my house but not ...

I'm a muppet with Saturn

I felt such a muppett the other night, and I should know better. I was showing a friend round the night sky on the way back from a party on the top of a hill where it was clear, it was freezing and he had some hideous waterproof trousers in the back of his car which I put on over my skirt so I could...

I enjoy the programmes too, but mainly because Brian Cox puts the astronomy word out to the public and it boosts up our planetariums etc etc... I just wish he wouldn't say 'beetlejuice'.... don't you just find that frustrating.... he of all people should be educating us how to pronounce things prope...

That's really clever Joe, great diagram, certainly helped me understand, amazing.

It's so nice to learn on here the things some of us have pondered over but not sure about asking and then on here you've explained brilliantly and we can all take advantage of the learning... ahh that's brilliant.

If you don't mind the distance, Robin Gorman at HAG (based at Clanfield Observatory) does an excellent course, usually starts in September and has about 3/4 terms which is recommended you do all them but you don't have to, and you pay a very reasonable fee each term so it's not too hard on ya wallet...

Do we need our moon

Who saw that programme last night about the moon? I thought it was quite good, certainly better presented that the one with Dara O'brien & Jonathan Ross in although I like Brian Cox. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed that programme, just prefered it with just Brian and facts than banter and over talking ...

The sky so cloudy... I couldn't even see the moon, so the planetarium wasn't worth someone being there to open.. what a shame....

gutted :(

I hope some of you guys could see it - I'd like to see some pictures if anyone has captured it, thanks

thanks, i'll be at work in Chichester for then, (8.15) but If i can see it from waterlooville before i set off that would be good... the Boss doesn't share my passion for sky watching so he's unlikely to let me come in a bit later :(
