About the original question asked: IMO, I would say that it definitely depends on what the purpose of the image is for. Are the photos for research? Or are the photos going to be blown up and hung on your wall for aesthetics? Even if for research one may need to do a TON of processing in order to ge...

Nope, I haven't built an observatory yet. In my life plans though! Now that I've finsihed the telescope my current project is working on computerizing it. We'll see how that goes, and of course, I'll post how I did it on PimpYourScope.com too.

You can get a lens flare from even a dim light source during a long-exposure picture like this one. I would think that if the light is behind the shed that it would create more of an ambient light. It could be that. but I would look for a light source that is a little more concentrated. Thanks for s...
