Iridium 76
Hi, Last night's pass (Tues 3rd Sept.) of Iridium 76 was one of the brightest I have seen (the image doesn't do it justice). I have seen mag -8 flares many times (this one was -8.4) but the very good sky conditions really helped make this one really bright on it's path through Cygnus. Canon 450D 35m...

Re: ISS voice transmissions
Hi David, Thanks for that info. Sorry you didn't manage to hear anything (work got in the way of any chance of me listening in) :( There will be some more transmissions during the coming week, although none over the UK, but might be worth keeping the scanner running for the early afternoon passes on...

ISS and Arcturus
Just had a few days away from the murky skies of Sheffield in Farnham, Surrey. This was taken at 21.29 BST on the 12th August. Never seen the ISS pass almost directly overhead before due to my location. Here it is on it's almost vertical climb from the west on one of the best passes I have seen. Can...

Re: ALOS
Hi stella, had a completely cloudless day here today ... until around 22.30 BST which ruined any chance of catching the satellite on it's 22.44 BST pass, infuriating is not the word. Hopefully there will be better opportunities in the coming days. What will be interesting about it stella, is it the ...

Re: ISS voice transmissions
Hi David, Pity you couldn't have listened a little longer you might have heard something. I heard the packet signal at around 18.31 BST (didn't expect that), it went on for about a minute or so then voice comms were heard in-between the packet signals (never known the ISS to transmit both packet (14...

Hi,
Just heard from the ISS for the first time for quite a while. Packet signal was very strong on this evenings 19.24 BST pass. Hopefully now that the passes are getting more favourable we may be getting some voice transmissions soon

It begins approx. 19.05 BST and will be quite a high pass for the UK so should be well worth a go. Don't know if ...

Hi,
Finally got my first sighting of the comet (Saturday 30th) at around 20.15 UT. Not visible to unaided eye but a nice sight in the 15x70's.
