Here are predictions for eclipses that are reasonably favourable from the UK during July, August and September:

Times are in UT (same as GMT, 1 hour behind BST - so, for example,  21.5h UT  is  22.5h BST )

RZ Cassiopeiae

Eclipses last 4.8h, with most of the brightness changes taking place during the middle 3 hours. The times shown below are for the mid-point of the eclipses

July:   4d  22.0h ,  6d   2.7h ,  10d  21.5h , 12d  2.2h , 18d  1.6h ,   24d  1.0h , 30d  0.5h.

Aug:  4d  23.9h , 10d  23.3h , 16d  22.7h , 18d  3.4h , 22d  22.2h , 24d  2.9h , 28d  21.6h , 30d  2.3h.

Sep:  3d  21.0h ,   5d  1.7h ,    9d  20.5h ,   11d  1.1h , 17d  0.6h ,   23d  0.0h ,  28d  23.4h , 30d  4.1h.

U Cephei

Eclipses last for approx 9 hours. The times shown below are for the eclipse mid-point. Eclipses are total, so there is a period of constant brightness around the middle of the eclipse.

July   5d  23.3h , 10d  23.0h , 15d  22.7h , 20d  22.3h , 25d  22.0h , 30d  21.7h

Aug:  4d  21.3h ,   9d  21.0h , 14d  20.7h , 19d  20.3h , 24d  20.0h.

Sep:  none during hours of UK darkness

U Coronae Borealis

Eclipses last for approx 12 hours. The times shown below are for the eclipse mid-point.

July:   18d   3.0h ,   25d  0.7h ,  31d  22.5h.

Aug      7d  20.1h , 18 d  4.6h ,  25d   2.4h.

Sep:     1d   0.1h ,    7d  21.8h , 14d 19.5h ,   25d  4.1h.

beta Lyrae

Both the deeper primary eclipse and less deep secondary eclipse can be followed visually. There is no period of constant brightness between eclipses.

Primary:       July  12-14 , 25-27,   Aug  7-9 ,  20-22 ,   Sep  2-4 ,  15-17 ,  28-30.

Secondary:  July    6-7 ,   19-20 ,  Aug  1-2 , 14-15 ,  27-28 ,   Sep   8-9 ,   21-22.

beta Persei (Algol)

Eclipses last for approx 10 hours. The times shown below are for the eclipse mid-point. Eclipses are total, so there is a period of constant brightness around the middle of the eclipse.

July:  23d  1.7h.

Aug:  12d   3.4h , 15d 0.2h , 17d  21.0h.

Sep:   4d   1.9h ,   6d  22.7h ,  9d  19.5h ,  24d  3.6h ,  27d  0.9h ,  29d  21.2h
